Guitar Auction for Josh Falconer

Guitar Auction for Josh Falconer

We are auctioning off the guitar that was used to write many Palace songs including our first two ever songs, Veins and I Want What You Got from the early days. It’s an Alvarez classical that’s had a bit of a makeover since then, and it’s now been signed by the three of us- Leo, Matt & Ru. It’s yours to own and all you have to do is let us know what you’d be prepared to pay for it.

You may have seen a post from us already about our guitar tech and friend Josh Falconer. If you were at one of our shows in the UK and Europe in October and November last year you will have seen him on stage with us. After that tour finished, in December 2019 Josh had extensive brain surgery to partially remove a large grade 2 astrocytoma tumour. When COVID-19 hit earlier this year his treatment was stopped, his condition worsened, and Josh and his girlfriend Sarah have had to seek alternative treatment which is very expensive to maintain. We’re giving you guys an opportunity to contribute to a great cause and to help Josh beat this terrible illness.

We are doing this in the form of a silent auction. You just have to DM our Instagram account with your bid. The auction will last for 1 week, starting today Wednesday 1st July and finishing at 5pm BST on Wednesday 8th July. Each day we will post an Instagram story showing what the highest bid has reached without revealing the bidder, and anyone can re-bid as many times as they like throughout the week.

To claim the guitar, the winner will need to donate the full amount of their bid to Josh’s GoFundMe page. The link is in the bio of our Instagram profile and also is linked from these stories.

Submissions welcome from anywhere in the world in any currency. If you live in London we will hand deliver it to you. Postage will be free within the UK. Worldwide shipping at an additional cost.

N.B. All bids should be submitted as a DM to the Palace Instagram account only. Start the message with the words ‘GUITAR AUCTION’ followed by your bid so we can catch it. Bids in any other form will not be considered.

The winner will be announced at the end of the day on Wednesday 8th July (UK time). Good luck and thank you for your support x
